A Burst of Rain

Took some people to the airport today. Just as we pulled up to the American Airlines terminal the sky opened up and the rain came down in sheets. It lasted for only a short period and all the rest of the day the sky has been a mix of clear blue and big, dark dramatic clouds. But no rain. This is what passes for winter in these parts. The sprinklers came on in the garden today and while it would be nice to be able to shut the water off until July, there's no way around keeping a least a bare minimum of irrigation to supplement nature's scant offering. We're shivering here, but that's nothing compared to the part of the country where our guests flew off to. Farther east from them they're expecting a blizzard that could bring 2-3 feet of snow.
