Lemons Plus Time

Picked 'em before they were ready to be picked. They had green patches, but a couple weeks later they've ripened. Sort of. They got yellower, but they aren't as plump as they were just off the branches. They're fragrant, but some have tiny brown spots. If for nothing else, they'll be good for freshening the Insinkerator, a word that's sure to come up in spellcheck even though it is treated like the proper noun it is. Some will ask, "why'd you pick 'em if they weren't ready to be picked." Well, there were too many of 'em and they were weighing the tree down. The tree needed to be pruned. They were going to become greenwaste. Now they're still life. Well, still. Not life.
