Dead since 1977
Everything is off, unsettlingly turned at the slightest angle.

I remember sitting in the cafeteria at Markley in October of ’77. Bing Crosby died and a girl named Mickey thought it was Bill Cosby. What would that have mattered to us? We were 18/19 year old kids. We were already thinking about celebrity deaths, getting news wrong, reacting with fake sadness one moment then off to class the next.
Alive since 1937
Later that school year, my friend Lauren told us her father came to visit and had lunch with her in the cafeteria. We all had the habit of keeping our plates on the tray we used to carry our food. Apparently, Lauren’s dad took his plate, his silver, his glass, everything off the tray and set it on the table. Lauren thought that was hilarious and we all had to agree.
Adults.
