Memorial Day

It's a day off. There could be shopping or recreation or cooking out of doors. This is the unofficial start of summer, even though it won't really be summer for another three weeks. Still, the days are getting as long as they can be. The sun comes up so early and sets relatively late. Here in California, it never sets as late as one wishes it would. In more northern climes or at the far edges of time zones, it will stay light until 9:30, 10 or even later.

Some of our dead are in cemeteries. Some are in urns. Others are scattered to the wind. We remember them all.
